I've been in private practice in Liverpool for 26 years, since gaining my diploma in 1987.
Before this I worked in therapeutic communities in London, Kent and Cork. I also ran a drug rehabilitation community here in the North West in the 1970's. Over the years I've worked with a very wide range of problems and now have a great deal of experience to draw on.
I've always been full of questions about human nature; our extraordinary capacity to lose our way, often causing terrible pain to ourselves and others, but then our equally extraordinary capacity for love, self sacrifice and learning. How do we lose our way, How do we find our way back, and how are we enriched by the process? The driving need to understand, adds an extra dimension to my work. I'm always looking for new approaches and more appropriate training, Over and over again though, I find that experience is the very best teacher.
